Winery history
The estate's origins date back centuries of winemaking in the commune of Margaux. Its present renown was consolidated during the 18th and 19th centuries and with the official 1855 Classification. In the 20th century ownership passed through several families and, from 1977, to the Mentzelopoulos family, who led a revival in quality. Recently a generational transition took place within the owning family.
Production philosophy
Meticulous attention in the vineyard and cellar, with a strong focus on grape quality, selection of vineyard parcels and winemaking practices aimed at preserving elegance and the expression of the terroir; the winery values both its Grand Vin and second wines, as well as a premium dry white.
Terroir and vineyards
Located in the commune of Margaux, the plot benefits from the Médoc’s classic gravelly terraces, which promote drainage and the ripening of Bordeaux grape varieties. The area forms part of the broader Margaux appellation in Bordeaux.
