This Chianti Classico DOCG Gran Selezione from Ricasoli, originating from Gaiole and identified as Roncicone in the Mathusalem format, presents an elegant and measured profile. In color it shows an intense ruby hue; on the nose there are hints of ripe small red fruits, delicate floral notes and light undergrowth nuances. The approach is rather concentrated but controlled, with a balance between fruity components and a tannic structure that is present but never aggressive. The aromatic profile evolves with oxygenation: light earthy notes and touches of aromatic herbs emerge and enrich the complexity; the finish features fruity returns and a long, pleasant close.

On the palate it reveals good structure, lively acidity and a savoury persistence that invites pairings with roasted meats, aged cheeses and local traditional dishes. The Mathusalem format makes it suitable for collective occasions or moments when one wishes to share a large-format bottle. Decanting is recommended to best open the bouquet; serving temperature indicative 16–18 °C.
