The Bardolino Superiore DOCG "Monte Maggiore" produced by Gorgo winery stands out for its refinement and complexity. This red wine results from a careful selection of grapes grown on the picturesque hills surrounding Lake Garda, a region known for its ideal microclimate that imparts unique characteristics to the grapes.

Monte Maggiore is a blend of Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara, typical varieties of the Bardolino area, handpicked to ensure the highest quality. The fermentation follows traditional methods, and the wine is then allowed to mature in oak barrels for a period that helps to intensify its flavors and structure.

Visually, the Bardolino Superiore "Monte Maggiore" displays a ruby red color with garnet reflections that intensify with aging. On the nose, it opens with an elegant and complex bouquet, dominated by notes of cherry, berries, and a light spiciness. In the background, one can sense delicate nuances of vanilla and tobacco, a legacy of its aging in wood.

On the palate, the wine is rich and well-balanced, with fine acidity that supports its freshness and soft yet present tannins. The finish is long and persistent, with an aftertaste that recalls the red fruits and spices perceived on the nose.

The Bardolino Superiore DOCG "Monte Maggiore" is ideal to accompany red meat dishes, game, and aged cheeses. Its elegance and complexity also make it perfect for sipping alone, as a contemplative wine.

It is advisable to serve this wine at a temperature of 16-18°C to fully appreciate its organoleptic qualities.

Winery history
The estate is led by the Bricolo family: parents Alberta and Roberto started the business, and it is now managed by their daughter Roberta. Over the years the facilities have been expanded with architectural additions focused on hospitality and wine tourism.
Production philosophy
The company's philosophy centers on organic viticulture and sustainability: the organic approach is regarded as an indispensable choice to safeguard health and the land and to enhance the relationship between soil, vine and climate, with winemaking planned already in the vineyard.
Terroir and vineyards
The vineyards are located on the moraine hills around the village of Custoza, in the municipality of Sommacampagna, on glacially derived soils rich in pebbles and calcium carbonate, which impart minerality and salinity to the wines, typical of the Lake Garda area.

Among the recognitions reported by the press and industry platforms are: Tre Bicchieri for the Custoza 'San Michelin'; international awards such as a Silver Medal and mentions in Decanter for the Custoza Superiore 'Summa'; and Mundus Vini medals for wines such as Ca' Nova.
