The Coumières Rouge “Moulin à Vent” by Geoffroy represents an elegant expression of Beaujolais, a region famous for the Gamay grape which lends freshness and liveliness to the wine. Produced near the Moulin-à-Vent, one of the most renowned crus in the area, this wine is characterized by a winemaking method that enhances the fruity essence without overlooking the typical structure of this terroir.

The intense ruby color anticipates a bouquet rich in aromas of small red fruits, such as cherry and raspberry, harmonized by slight spicy notes and floral nuances. On the palate, it is soft and harmonious, with well-integrated tannins and a pleasant sapidity that provides excellent balance and persistence. The carefully managed aging balances the fresh and vibrant characteristics of the Gamay with a silky smoothness that invites long sipping.

Ideal paired with white meat dishes, soft cheeses, and mushroom-based preparations, the Coumières Rouge “Moulin à Vent” is a refined choice for those wishing to discover the nuances and elegance of an authentic Beaujolais.

Champagne Geoffroy – Winery in Champagne (Vallée de la Marne)

Discover the story and wines of Champagne Geoffroy.

Family-run Champagne house operating as a récoltant-manipulant, with vineyards mainly in Cumières (Premier Cru) and a working cellar in Aÿ. It produces expressive cuvées, benefiting from parcel-by-parcel vinification and technical choices focused on freshness.
Region: Champagne (Vallée de la Marne)
Country: Francia
Grapes: Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir
Vineyards concentrated mainly in Cumières. Declared vineyard area: 14 hectares. Declared varietal percentages: approximately 24% Chardonnay, 34% Pinot Meunier, 42% Pinot Noir. The winery and winemaking operations were relocated to Aÿ in 2008. Winemaking practices focused on preserving freshness and the use of traditional pressing.
Winery history
The Geoffroy family has cultivated vineyards in the Vallée de la Marne since the 17th century. In the early 1950s Roger Geoffroy began bottling under his own name. Management then passed to René and later to Jean-Baptiste Geoffroy, who moved the winemaking and commercial operations to Aÿ in 2008. The house has grown while remaining family-run and involving the next generation.
Production philosophy
Production aims to respect the soil and the vineyard’s expression: minimal vineyard work and winemaking conducted parcel by parcel. In the cellar, priority is given to traditional pressing, gravity transfers and choices intended to preserve freshness. Blending and dosage are decided to enhance the wine’s natural balance.
Terroir and vineyards
The vineyard covers 14 hectares, divided into plots across the hills of Damery, Hautvillers, Fleury-la-Rivière and, notably, Cumières, a village classified Premier Cru in the Vallée de la Marne. The land is fragmented into numerous clos and parcels that provide diverse varietal expressions typical of the region.
