The Fiano Sannio DOC produced by Janare winery from La Guardiense is a true gem in the wine landscape of the Campania region. This white wine is distinguished by its refinement and complex aromatic structure, offering a remarkably enjoyable and stimulating tasting experience.

The Fiano Sannio DOC from La Guardiense comes from the gentle hills of the Sannio area, known for its fertile soils and climate favorable to viticulture. The Fiano grapes, handpicked with the utmost care, are carefully selected to ensure the superior quality of this wine.

Visually, the wine displays a straw-yellow color with greenish reflections, typical of Fiano. On the nose, it opens with intense aromas of white-fleshed fruits, such as peach and pear, complemented by delicate floral hints and a light mineral note that adds freshness to the olfactory bouquet.

On the palate, the Fiano Sannio DOC shows a medium body, well balanced between lively acidity and a soft texture that envelops the palate. The flavors are a continuation of what is perceived on the nose, with additions of nuances of aromatic herbs and a hint of almond in the finish that makes it even more interesting and persistent.

This wine pairs beautifully with fish dishes, fresh cheeses, or as an aperitif. Its versatility makes it ideal for different culinary pairings, satisfying the most demanding palates. Recommended serving temperatures range from 8-10°C to enhance all its qualities.

The Fiano Sannio DOC from La Guardiense is an excellent example of how wine tradition and innovation can merge to create wines of high quality and distinctive character. A must for lovers of elegant and aromatic whites.

Winery history
La Guardiense was established as a cooperative on 8 March 1960 by 33 growers from Guardia Sanframondi. Over the decades it has expanded its membership and production activities: first documented harvest in 1963, start of sparkling wine production in 1986, and international recognition as early as the 1970s. In the 2000s the winery established an ongoing collaboration with oenologist Riccardo Cotarella and developed research and zoning projects such as “I Mille” and “Janare.” In recent years the cooperative has undertaken sustainability and innovation initiatives, obtaining certifications and producing a corporate sustainability report.
Production philosophy
Enhancing the local viticultural heritage through cooperation among members, scientific research applied to viticulture, and the transformation of indigenous grapes into distinctive wines. The company combines integrated agricultural practices, zoning projects and the development of sustainable supply chains to improve quality and traceability.
Terroir and vineyards
The estate and main vineyards are located in the Sannio beneventano, in the Valle Telesina around Guardia Sanframondi, a hilly area nestled between the Matese massif and Monte Taburno, well suited to Falanghina, Aglianico, Fiano and Greco.
Awards and recognitions
