On the palate, it stands out for its elegant softness, with a balanced structure that blends freshness and a fragrant touch of sweetness, typical of the reserve. Winery history
The local vineyard has documented roots dating back to the 12th century. The modern cooperative was founded after World War II when local winegrowers joined forces to vinify and sell their wines. The cellar is listed in its official sources as established in 1954. Over the years the cooperative has expanded its activities — including the acquisition of a maison de négoce cited in specialized sources — and has established itself in the production of Grands Crus, Crémants and late-harvest wines.
Production philosophy
The winery states that it vinifies with respect for the diversity of the local terroirs, using only grapes from its own vineyards; it operates as a small-scale cooperative with a strong focus on the quality and typicity of its vineyard parcels, coordinated by an in-house winemaker.
Terroir and vineyards
The vineyards are located around Hunawihr and in the surrounding communes, on predominantly limestone terroirs with a geological mosaic typical of Alsace. The winery vinifies grapes from several Lieu-dit and various Grands Crus, including Rosacker, Froehn, Sporen, Schoenenbourg and Osterberg.
Awards and recognitions
Highlighted by the trade press as one of the leading cooperatives in Alsace; cited in national wine guides for several wines and for the Crémant and Grands Crus cuvées.
