La Bernardine AOC Châteauneuf-du-Pape by Chapoutier is a red wine whose label names a recognised French appellation and its producer. The available information does not specify the vintage, blend, tasting profile or ageing method, so it is best not to assign unverified sensory or production characteristics to the wine. The appellation reference does, however, give it a clear identity for anyone choosing a red associated with Châteauneuf-du-Pape.

When considering this wine, take the menu and occasion into account rather than relying on tasting notes that have not been provided. It may suit a meal where a red wine is wanted, or make a gift for someone who appreciates wines from this appellation. For serving, check the bottle for guidance on temperature and storage, as these details are not included in the product information. La Bernardine is therefore a wine with a clearly stated origin; further details can be confirmed from the label or the retailer.

Winery history
The Chapoutier family has been present in the Rhône Valley since the early 19th century; family tradition records 1808 as the beginning of their presence in the region. Their winemaking activity developed over time and took a decisive turn with Michel Chapoutier, whose leadership from the 1980s/1990s expanded the Maison’s international reputation and introduced agronomic practices oriented toward biodynamics and the enhancement of individual crus.
Production philosophy
La Maison favors the expression of the terroir through parcel-level selections, low-intervention winemaking practices and vineyard management guided by organic and biodynamic principles. The philosophy of respect for the soil is paired with a strong focus on accessibility and transparency about the wines' origins.
Terroir and vineyards
Based in Tain-l'Hermitage, production is concentrated in the Rhône Valley with a significant presence in the appellations Hermitage, Crozes-Hermitage, Saint-Joseph, Côte-Rôtie, Cornas and Châteauneuf-du-Pape; the Maison also has viticultural projects and collaborations in other regions and countries.
