Le Petit Mouton de Mouton Rothschild 2017 shows a deep ruby colour with purple highlights. On the nose it is measured and elegant: aromas of red and black fruit, subtle spicy notes and a slight earthy hint emerge, adding complexity without overwhelming. On the palate it displays a fine, well-polished tannic texture, balanced freshness that supports the sip and good persistence; the finish is long and recalls the fruity aromas perceived on the nose.

A versatile wine, it pairs discreetly with medium-bodied dishes such as roasted red meats, grilled preparations, stews and not overly aged hard cheeses. I recommend serving it around 16-18 °C and, if desired, decanting to encourage the opening of aromas in the early phases. Suitable for convivial dinners as well as more intimate occasions, it requires attentive service to best express its balance and supple character.
