The Lirac Rouge from Chateau d'Aqueria is a French red wine that enchants with its complexity and elegance. Cultivated in the generous lands of the Vallée du Rhône, this wine benefits from an ideal microclimate and soils that impart a unique and intense richness to its aromatic profile.

In appearance, the Lirac Rouge presents a deep ruby red color, suggestive and inviting. On the nose, it offers a complex bouquet where notes of ripe red fruits like cherry and blackberry are recognized, enriched by spicy nuances and a light touch of cedar wood, a testament to balanced aging in barrels.

On the palate, the structure is robust yet harmonious, with finely interwoven tannins that support a remarkable aromatic persistence. Notes of red fruit blend with accents of black pepper and a finish reminiscent of bitter chocolate, making each sip complex and memorable.

Recommended to accompany red meat dishes, game, or aged cheeses, the Lirac Rouge from Chateau d'Aqueria is a magnificent expression of the viticulture of the region, ideal for enriching special moments or adding a touch of class to an elegant dinner.

Historic domaine producing wines from the Tavel and Lirac appellations. The estate was transferred to the Guigal family in May 2022. Estate of approximately 98 hectares. HVE certification in place. Winemaking and blending of several grape varieties typical of the Rhône for the various cuvées.
Winery history
The property's documented origins date back to 1595, when Louis Joseph d'Aqueria purchased the land known as "Puy Sablonneux." Over the centuries the estate passed through several families; in the 20th century it was acquired by the Olivier/de Bez family, who led it for generations. In May 2022 the Guigal family acquired Château d'Aqueria, stating their intention to preserve the site's history and to further develop the wines of the Tavel and Lirac appellations.
Production philosophy
A strong focus on the value of the terroir and on environmental protection: the estate implements agricultural practices aimed at conserving biodiversity and holds HVE certification. Vineyard work prioritizes hand-harvesting and vinification methods designed to highlight the typicity of Tavel and Lirac.
Terroir and vineyards
The domaine is located in the Tavel and Lirac area of the southern Rhône Valley. Soils range from clay-sandy around the castle to calcareous and gravelly on the terraces; these differences allow the production of both the renowned Tavel rosé and the Lirac red and white wines.
