The Malvasia Riserva produced by the renowned Kante winery is a brilliant example of the perfect balance between wine-making tradition and innovation. Native to the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, this label stands out for its intense aromatic expressiveness and structural complexity.

The winemaking process follows strict protocols that preserve the integrity of the original fruit. The carefully selected Malvasia grapes undergo slow fermentation and maturation in oak barriques, which adds depth and complexity to the wine without overwhelming its natural notes. The result is a reserve wine that reflects the purebred essence of the Malvasia variety.

Visually, it presents a rich golden yellow color, which anticipates its olfactory and taste richness. On the nose, intense aromas of ripe fruit such as peaches and apricots emerge, intertwined with nuances of honey, sweet spices, and a light touch of vanilla. The minerality is well evident, a distinctive trait that Kante successfully expresses thanks to the unique composition of the karstic soils on which the vineyards extend.

On the palate, Kante's Malvasia Riserva surprises with its impeccable balance between lively acidity and a soft, enveloping structure. The complexity of flavors repeats, with additions of candied citrus notes and a long, pleasantly aromatic aftertaste that lingers, inviting another sip.

This wine pairs beautifully with elaborate fish dishes, white meats, and aged cheeses, but it is also a superb star as a contemplative wine. The Malvasia Riserva by Kante is ideal for those seeking a wine from a winery with a strong territorial bond, capable of expressing the character of an ancient variety with modern elegance.

Winery history
Cantina Santi was founded as a winery in Illasi and has been present in Valpolicella since the 19th century. During the 20th century the Santi family introduced technical innovations and progressively focused on high-end wines; in 1974 the winery became part of Gruppo Italiano Vini, which reinforced investments and facilities while preserving its local identity.
Production philosophy
Santi claims a style tied to the sense of place of Valpolicella: it favors the predominant use of Corvina in its selections, aging in large traditional casks, and the use of local woods to enhance the aromatic qualities typical of native grape varieties. The approach combines oenological research with respect for local practices.
Terroir and vineyards
Santi's vineyards and selections are concentrated in Val d'Illasi and the classic areas of Valpolicella, using a vineyard-selection approach across different exposures and microclimates to produce wines that reflect the local terroir. The winery also works with vineyards in other Veronese appellations such as Soave, Bardolino and Lugana.
