Martinenga Barbaresco DOCG by Marchesi di Grésy is a red wine offered in a Jeroboam format. The Barbaresco DOCG designation identifies a wine from Piedmont made from Nebbiolo grapes and subject to the rules of its production specification. The vintage and specific details of winemaking or ageing are not provided here. This description therefore focuses on the identity stated on the label and on occasions when the format may be practical, without assigning undocumented aromas or tasting characteristics to the wine.

The large format may suit a shared dinner or a special occasion when several people are to be served from the same bottle. The choice of bottle size does not, however, replace information about the vintage and cannot by itself predict the wine’s development or profile in the glass. For serving, it is reasonable to offer the wine at a moderate temperature and use generously sized glasses, allowing it time to open up. Traditional pairings for Barbaresco include roasted or braised meats and well-aged cheeses; these are general suggestions to adapt to the menu and personal preferences. A suitable choice for those seeking a red wine with a Piedmontese appellation in a format intended for sharing.

Property of the di Grésy family, with a documented presence since 1797. Martinenga: the family's monopole cru and the center of winemaking. Production focused on elegance and the expression of the terroir. Four estates between the Langhe and Monferrato. Visits and tastings available by reservation; on-site wine resort/hospitality affiliated with the winery.
Winery history
The estate of Tenute Cisa Asinari has been linked to the di Grésy family since the 18th century; the family has owned the Martinenga cru since 1797. Winemaking under the Grésy label in its modern form was begun by Alberto di Grésy around 1973, when the family decided to produce wine exclusively from their own grapes and to promote wines that expressed the identity of the vineyards.
Production philosophy
The estate places great emphasis on vineyard care and on respecting the grape varieties and tradition: winemaking aims to enhance the terroir’s expression without altering it, producing elegant, balanced wines that reflect the character of each vineyard.
Terroir and vineyards
The estates are located across the Langhe and Monferrato and include Martinenga, Monte Aribaldo, La Serra and Monte Colombo. Martinenga is regarded as one of the area’s finest geographical indications, and the grapes from all the estates are generally vinified at the Martinenga winery.
