Pairing Meat-sauce pasta, meats, cured meats and medium-aged cheeses
Il Vigneto is the name chosen by Poggio Mandorlo for this Merlot-based red wine, presented as Toscana IGT. The available information does not state the vintage or provide other production details. This description therefore focuses on the information given and the characteristics generally associated with the grape variety. Merlot is often appreciated for its fruity profile and soft texture, though intensity, aromas and structure can vary from wine to wine. Without tasting notes, it is not possible to attribute specific aromatic or flavour notes to this bottle.

At the table, a Merlot red may pair well with mildly seasoned meat dishes, tomato-based preparations and medium-aged cheeses. These are general suggestions: the choice of pairing also depends on the dish and personal preferences. The name “Il Vigneto” identifies the line indicated by the producer, while Toscana IGT signals the geographical category shown on the label. A possible choice for those looking for a Tuscan red made from Merlot, without assuming specific characteristics that have not been documented.

Winery history
The Poggio Mandorlo project began in 2001, initiated by four friends who started making their own wines under the guidance of winemaker Roberto Cipresso.
Production philosophy
The winery seeks to express its terroir and grape varieties, focusing on grape quality and varietal character. The cellar was designed to blend into the landscape and limit environmental impact.
Terroir and vineyards
The estate is in Seggiano, at the foot of Mount Amiata, within the Montecucco DOCG area, between Val d’Orcia and Maremma. Its vineyards lie at about 400 metres above sea level on soils that include clay-limestone marl and, in higher parcels, tuff and galestro.
