Montebello Toscana IGT by Badia a Coltibuono is a wine that embodies the expression of a unique territory and the passion for quality viticulture. Produced by the historic Badia a Coltibuono winery, located in the heart of Chianti, Montebello is a blend of native Tuscan varieties, each vinified separately and then expertly assembled. This process allows us to create a complex and harmonious wine, which reflects the richness and diversity of the Tuscan winemaking heritage.

Badia a Coltibuono, with its roots dating back to 1051, is synonymous with tradition and innovation. The winery's philosophy places great emphasis on sustainability and respect for the terroir, with agricultural practices that aim to preserve the environment and enhance the natural characteristics of the grapes. Montebello is the fruit of this vision, representing a commitment to quality and authenticity.

Montebello Toscana IGT stands out for its intense and brilliant red color. On the nose, it offers a complex and inviting bouquet, with notes of ripe red fruits, spices, aromatic herbs and a light mineral hint, which adds depth and richness to the whole. The moderate use of wood in refinement enriches the wine with nuances of vanilla and cocoa, without overpowering the freshness and intensity of the fruit.

In the mouth, the wine is extraordinarily balanced, with a perfect harmony between acidity, soft tannins and a complex structure. The red fruit flavors blend with balsamic and spicy notes, leading to a long and persistent finish, which leaves a pleasant sensation of elegance and complexity.

Ideal in combination with rich and tasty dishes of Tuscan and international cuisine, such as grilled red meats, game dishes and mature cheeses, Montebello Toscana IGT is also a meditation wine, which invites you to reflect on the richness of the Italian wine heritage .

In conclusion, Montebello di Badia a Coltibuono is a wine that represents a journey through the history, culture and flavors of Tuscany, offering a unique and unforgettable tasting experience, the result of the union between the centuries-old tradition of Badia a Coltibuono and the its continuous pursuit of excellence.

Winery history
The estate is the former Abbey of San Lorenzo a Coltibuono, whose documented origins date back to the 11th century. Over the centuries the property has maintained its connection to local viticulture; in the twentieth century family management helped consolidate the production of wine and olive oil and opened the Abbey to hospitality and the promotion of Tuscan cuisine.
Production philosophy
It practices organic farming with attention to biodiversity, the soil and workers' health. The wine is conceived as the fruit of vineyard work. In the winery, techniques that respect the integrity of the grapes are favored, such as fermentation with indigenous yeasts and the use of gravity-flow winemaking principles.
Terroir and vineyards
The vineyards are concentrated in the Monti in Chianti area on clay-limestone soils. The vineyards mentioned in the product sheets include crus and parcels such as Montebello, Poggino, Vignone and Argenina; the estate overlooks the Arno valley and includes estate-owned olive groves and woodlands.
