Ogrande IGT is a white wine from Skerk, presented with a restrained, natural aromatic profile. On the nose it offers fruity and floral sensations, with hints of white-fleshed fruit and field flowers; the impression is marked by pleasant freshness and a balance that favors a clean taste expression. Its acidity is well calibrated and contributes to a fresh, persistent, non-aggressive finish. On the palate it shows a saline, smooth texture, medium body and moderate persistence, with a clear finish that highlights citrus notes without excess.

It suits versatile pairings: seafood starters, fish-based dishes, light soups, delicate white meats and fresh cheeses pair well. It is also pleasant as an aperitif and accompanies informal convivial moments. To emphasize its characteristics we recommend serving it around 8-10 °C in a large glass, shortly after opening to preserve freshness. It is intended to be enjoyed young, ideal for informal occasions and summer dinners where freshness and immediacy are sought.

Skerk – Winery in Friuli‑Venezia Giulia (Carso)

Discover the story and wines of Skerk.

Small Carso estate (Duino Aurisina, Province of Trieste) run by the Škerk family (Sandi Škerk). Produces primarily territorial white wines — including Malvasia Istriana and Vitovska — in limited volumes; cellar carved into karst rock and low-intervention farming with measured skin macerations.
Region: Friuli‑Venezia Giulia (Carso)
Country: Italy
Winery history
Founded in the 1980s; reported year of foundation: 1987. Family-owned (Škerk family). Declared annual production approximately 22,000 bottles.
Production philosophy
Focus on expressing the Carso terroir: minimal vineyard practices (close to organic), spontaneous fermentations and measured skin macerations for expressive, ageworthy whites; moderate wood aging when used.
Terroir and vineyards
Località Prepotto, Municipality of Duino-Aurisina (Province of Trieste) — karst plateau near the Gulf of Trieste; calcareous/rocky soils with strong Bora wind influence. Declared vineyard area: about 7 hectares; indicated altitude around 200–250 m asl.
