The Pignoletto Metodo Classico Selez. 051 Cuvee by La Riva is a refined and distinctive expression of one of the most beloved native grape varieties of Emilia-Romagna. This sparkling wine stands out for its classic production method, highlighting the quality and care in selecting the grapes and in the winemaking process.

The 051 cuvée is made from carefully selected Pignoletto grapes, grown in vineyards located in ideal positions to ensure optimal ripening. Harvesting is done by hand towards the end of August, allowing for the preservation of the grape's integrity and the freshness of the aromas.

In the glass, this Pignoletto Metodo Classico presents a bright straw yellow color, with fine and persistent bubbles, an unequivocal sign of the quality of the second fermentation in the bottle, which strictly follows the traditional method. On the nose, lively scents of fresh fruit such as pear and melon emerge, accompanied by floral nuances and a slight touch of bread crust, a result of the long maturation on the yeasts.

On the palate, the wine is elegant and complex. The freshness is balanced by a robust structure and an enveloping creaminess, leading to a long and pleasantly mineral finish. This cuvée is ideal as an aperitif but can also beautifully accompany a variety of dishes, especially seafood starters, raw fish, and sophisticated vegetarian dishes.

La Riva is committed not only to the quality of production but also to respecting the environment, following sustainable practices that enhance the territory and biodiversity. The Pignoletto Metodo Classico Selez. 051 Cuvee is a testament to the dedication and passion that this winery pours into every bottle produced.

Winery history
Tenuta La Riva was founded as a family project, driven by Alberto's passion and the tradition of several generations. The estate has grown steadily, focusing on bottle refermentation and the promotion of local grape varieties such as Pignoletto and Trebbiano Modenese, with the family involved in every stage from vineyard to cellar.
Production philosophy
The winery favors refermentation in bottle and a low-intervention winemaking approach: organic farming, low use of sulfites and techniques that respect the land and health. For sparkling wines they practice long periods of lees contact and perform disgorgements à la volée for low- or no-dosage wines.
Terroir and vineyards
The estate, located in the Colli Bolognesi at Castello di Serravalle, is surrounded by the characteristic calanchi of the Emilian Apennines and lies about half an hour from Bologna. It cultivates indigenous and international grape varieties suited to the hilly terrain.
