The Puisseguin Saint-Emilion Vieilles Vignes from Chateau Clarisse is an emblematic example of mastery in utilizing old vines to produce wines of exceptional quality and complexity. Originating from the prestigious Saint-Emilion region on the right bank of Bordeaux, this wine is a concentrate of tradition and innovation.

Exclusively produced with Merlot grapes, handpicked from the old vines that characterize the unique terroir of this designation, the Vieilles Vignes cuvée offers an intense and enveloping bouquet. On the nose, refined scents of ripe red fruits, sweet spices, and a slight hint of vanilla emerge, due to the skillful aging in French oak barrels.

On the palate, the wine reveals itself as structured yet smooth, with silky tannins that are well-balanced with the lively acidity typical of wines from this area. Notes of dark fruit, chocolate, and coffee intertwine in a long and persistent finish, inviting a second sip.

Ideal to serve with robust dishes such as red meat roasts, game, or aged cheeses, the Puisseguin Saint-Emilion Vieilles Vignes from Chateau Clarisse is an excellent choice for those seeking a wine that combines elegance and power.

Winery history
The estate was established through the commitment of Olivia and Didier Le Calvez: the search for the vineyard began in the late 2000s and the first vintage produced was 2010. The project developed between 2009 and 2010 and the name Château Clarisse comes from the family's daughter; management is focused on enhancing the vineyards' heritage and local tradition.
Production philosophy
The estate adopts practices aimed at protecting biodiversity and promoting agroforestry: restoration of small woodlands, planting of hedgerows, creation of a botanical garden and installation of beehives. Since 2009 the agronomic approach has emphasized sustainable management of the soil and the vineyard, with hand harvesting and a gradual restructuring of the vineyards.
Terroir and vineyards
The vineyard sits on the calcarenite plateau of Puisseguin, on clay‑limestone soils rich in asteriated limestone. The estate is located on the highest plateau in the Gironde and operates within two appellations: Puisseguin‑Saint‑Émilion and Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux.
Awards and recognitions
The domaine's wines have received recognition and positive scores from critics such as James Suckling and Guide Hachette; medals are also listed, along with recent awards for some cuvées.
