The Refoscolo del Peduncolo Riserva DOC Friuli Colli Orientali is born in the fertile vineyards of La Viarte winery, located in the heart of Friuli. This wine, packaged in Magnum format, is ideal for lovers of wines with a bold and distinctive character.

Produced exclusively in exceptional vintages, the Refoscolo del Peduncolo Riserva evokes the winemaking tradition of Friuli, expressing a unique character derived from the particular terroir of the Colli Orientali del Friuli. The Refoscolo grape variety is one of the most interesting indigenous varieties of the region, known for its ability to produce structured and long-lived wines.

It presents an intense ruby red color, tending towards garnet with aging. On the nose, the bouquet is rich with nuances: notes of ripe wild berries, sweet spices like vanilla, and light traces of tobacco and leather can be recognized, resulting from maturation in barriques.

On the palate, the Refoscolo del Peduncolo Riserva surprises with its robust and well-balanced structure. The acidity and tannins are harmoniously integrated, leading to a persistent finish that recalls the olfactory aromas.

I suggest serving it at a temperature of 18-20°C. It pairs excellently with red meat dishes, game, and aged cheeses. A wine that not only tells the story of its territory but also the passion and dedication of La Viarte winery to quality viticulture.

A prestigious addition to any wine collection and an excellent choice for celebrating special occasions.

Winery history
La Viarte was established as a production company in the Colli Orientali del Friuli and is recorded as having been founded in 1973. Over the years it has developed dedicated ranges and, in 2023, returned to public attention thanks to a new management phase with the arrival of the Polegato family, who relaunched the company while maintaining its focus on the local area.
Production philosophy
The winery places respect for the territory, the enhancement of native grape varieties, and a detail-oriented cellar approach at its core: targeted winemaking by type, selective use of oak for red wines, and limited production to emphasize quality and territorial identity.
Terroir and vineyards
The winery is located on the hills of the Friuli Colli Orientali DOC, near the border with Slovenia. The vineyards grow on marly-sandy soils, which impart structure and minerality to the wines.
