Boscarelli's Rosso di Montalcino DOC "Prugnolo" is a splendid expression of the Sangiovese grape, grown in the fertile lands of Montalcino, one of the most prestigious areas for viticulture in Tuscany. The Boscarelli winery, known for its dedication to quality and tradition, produces this wine following careful cultivation philosophies that respect the terroir, enhancing the distinctive characteristics of Sangiovese.
The "Prugnolo" is characterized by a careful selection of the best Sangiovese grapes, hand-picked from the vineyards located in the hills around Montalcino. This area is blessed with an ideal climate and soils that vary from clayey to calcareous, offering the perfect conditions for the ripening of grapes and the production of red wines of exceptional quality and character.
The vinification of "Prugnolo" focuses on exalting the freshness and expressiveness of the fruit. After harvesting, the grapes undergo temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks, followed by barrel aging which helps to integrate the flavors and develop greater complexity in the wine, without overpowering its natural liveliness and freshness.
Visually, Rosso di Montalcino "Prugnolo" has a bright and inviting ruby red color. On the nose, the wine unfolds a rich and complex bouquet, dominated by notes of red and black fruits, such as cherries, blackberries and plums, enriched by floral, spicy nuances and a light balsamic vein, which reflect the elegance and depth of Sangiovese .
In the mouth, the wine offers a balanced and intense tasting experience, with soft and well-structured tannins that accompany the flavors of ripe fruit. The acidity is well balanced, contributing to a sensation of freshness and drinkability. The finish is long and persistent, with a return of the fruity and spicy notes perceived on the nose.
Ideal in combination with Tuscan cuisine and meat-based dishes, such as Florentine steak, Boscarelli's "Prugnolo" also pairs well with mature cheeses and mushroom-based dishes.
