Botrosecco is a red wine from the Maremma Toscana DOC appellation, produced by Antinori at Fattoria Le Mortelle in the heart of the Maremma, near Castiglione della Pescaia. Made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, it expresses the Mediterranean character of the area while offering a decisive, balanced and elegant style. In the glass, it shows a bright, intense ruby-red color.
The nose reveals aromas of red fruit, including sour cherry and redcurrant, accompanied by fresh notes of eucalyptus and Mediterranean herbs, along with delicate spicy nuances of tobacco and white pepper. On the palate, Botrosecco is full-bodied and savory, with soft, well-integrated tannins. The finish is long and pleasant, recalling cocoa and fresh fruit. Vinification takes place in stainless-steel tanks, with approximately fifteen days of maceration on the skins, followed by aging in barriques and then in the bottle.
