Within the warmth of the 1995 vintage signed Damoiseau one immediately recognizes a mature, concentrated character. The opening is intense yet clean, with memories of dried fruit, caramel and a hint of sweet spices that does not cover the underlying freshness. On the palate it is round and full, with great depth and a silky texture; the wood provides structure and a slight tannic weave that balances the softness, leaving a sense of fine clarity and a warmth that envelops rather than overwhelms.

The finish is sustained, with aromatic echoes that extend into the finale and leave sweet-amber suggestions. It is suited to a contemplative tasting, preferably neat in wide glasses at room temperature or slightly cool; a drop of water can open its aromas without attenuating its structure. Pair it with dark chocolate, desserts based on dried fruit or aged cheeses, or serve it as an elegant after-dinner pour. The wooden case that houses it also makes it a particularly well-crafted gift.
