Penfolds Rwt Bin 798 Barossa Valley Shiraz 2018 is an Australian red that expresses the character of the Barossa Valley in its vintage. Visually it shows a deep ruby colour; on the nose there are aromas of ripe dark fruits, blackberries and plums, with hints of black pepper and dark chocolate. The aromatic intensity also carries balsamic touches and a gentle spicy note that enriches the olfactory profile without overwhelming it.

On the palate it displays structure and concentration: tannins that are present but well integrated and good persistence that brings back the fruity and spicy notes perceived on the nose. Sapidity and freshness balance the substance, making it interesting with spiced dishes or slow-cooked sauces. It pairs with grilled red meats, hearty stews and flavorful cheeses. Penfolds was founded in Magill when Christopher and Mary Penfold planted the first vines in 1844.
