The name recalls the France of the 1700s, but "Saint Germain" is an entirely Sicilian wine, a Spumante Brut that comes from grapes from the fertile lands of Trapani. Cataratto and Grillo give life to an elegant drink produced with berries grown on the Borgo Guarini estate.
"Saint Germain" is produced according to the charmat method and is the result of a truly unique agricultural context that expresses all the strength and style of a noble, aristocratic, noble Sicily, also described by Verga, Pirandello and Tomasi di Lampedusa.
In the glass it shows off a bewitching very bright straw yellow color, with a fine and persistent perlage. Extremely refined aromas rise to the nose which elegantly change harmoniously, with accentuated hints of white-fleshed fruit and citrus. On the palate it is pleasant and complex, its right acidity and freshness bring out the persistence of mineral hints at the end.
The gustatory complexity is in perfect harmony with the olfactory elegance. "Saint Germain" best expresses the combination of the blend between Catarratto and Grillo, highlighting the individual characteristics and giving the possibility to distinguish the particular peculiar characteristics of the two vines for more experienced palates.
A special sparkling wine as an aperitif but also very suitable with seafood first and second courses and shellfish.
