The Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore Valpantena DOCG from Costa Arènte winery is a red wine that perfectly embodies the essence of its place of origin, Valpantena, one of the most esteemed valleys in the Valpolicella area in Veneto. This wine results from an intriguing production process called "Ripasso," which provides the wine with a complexity and structure particularly appreciated by connoisseurs.
Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore is obtained through a second fermentation on the pomace of Amarone and Recioto, which helps intensify the aromatic profile and complexity of the wine. Thanks to this technique, the wine not only gains a higher concentration of aromas and flavors but also an increased body and aging potential.
Visually, it presents a deep ruby-red color. On the nose, it is rich, displaying aromas of ripe red fruits like cherries and plums, with spicy notes of black pepper and a slight hint of tobacco and chocolate, due to aging in wood. On the palate, the Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore Valpantena DOCG is robust and elegant, with soft and well-integrated tannins leading to a persistent and satisfying finish.
Ideal for accompanying roasted or braised red meats, it is also perfect with aged cheeses. This wine proves to be an excellent choice for those seeking a red with character and depth, capable of elegantly evolving even after several years in the cellar. Serve at a temperature of 16-18°C to fully enjoy its aromatic richness.
