The Vdf Faustine Rouge from Domaine Abbatucci is a distinctive red wine originating from Corsica, a region famously rich in unique terroirs and native varietals. This cuvée is primarily composed of Sciaccarello grapes, typical of the island, which give the wine an elegant structure and complex aroma.

In the glass, the Vdf Faustine Rouge presents itself with a lively ruby red color, promising an intense olfactory experience. On the nose, vibrant notes of fresh red fruits like cherry and strawberry emerge, enriched by spicy nuances and a light herbal touch, typical of the Sciaccarello grapes.

On the palate, the wine reveals itself to be well-balanced, with remarkable freshness that supports the fruit expression and a soft tannicity that extends its finish. This combination creates a harmonious and inviting flavor profile, ideal for pairing with Mediterranean cuisine dishes, particularly those based on aromatic herbs and white meats.

The production of Vdf Faustine Rouge follows organic and biodynamic methods, reflecting Domaine Abbatucci's commitment to sustainability and authentic expression of the terroir. A wine that enchants both the novice and the expert sommelier, demonstrating the richness and diversity of Corsican wines.

Winery history
The Abbatucci family has been cultivating vineyards in Corsica for generations. In the 1960s Antoine Abbatucci began collecting and planting threatened indigenous grape varieties, creating an important ampelographic collection. Today the estate is led by Jean-Charles Abbatucci, who has converted the estate to biodynamic practices and continues to promote local varieties and historic vineyard parcels.
Production philosophy
The winery's approach is centered on biodynamic viticulture and on respecting the land as a living organism: the use of biodynamic preparations, working according to lunar rhythms, integrating animals into the estate's ecosystem, and experimental practices such as traditional grafting, irrigation with brackish water on experimental plots, and even experiments using music to stimulate the plants.
Terroir and vineyards
Located in the Taravo Valley in southern Corsica, the vineyards lie on low-to-medium altitude granite soils and are characterised by Mediterranean influence and Corsican maquis.
