The Verdicchio Castelli Di Jesi DOC Superiore Gaiospino - Fattoria Coroncino embodies the typical elegance of Verdicchio, an indigenous grape variety of the Marche region. Coming from the renowned Castelli di Jesi area, this wine fully reflects the unique character of the terroir, made up of limestone hills that provide freshness and minerality. The respectful vinification enhances the varietal characteristics, giving the wine a straw-yellow color with greenish reflections.

On the nose, it opens with notes of citrus, green apple, and a delicate floral touch, combined with hints of bitter almond typical of Verdicchio. On the palate, it is harmonious, fresh, and sapid, with an elegant structure that accompanies a pleasant final persistence. The aging in steel preserves the aromatic purity and guarantees an immediate but complex drinkability.

Perfect with fish dishes, white meats, and light first courses, the Gaiospino is a versatile wine that enhances the enological tradition of Marche.

Fattoria Coroncino – Winery in Marche

Discover the story and wines of Fattoria Coroncino.

Small artisanal winery based in Staffolo (AN), Marche, focused on Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi and minimal, traditional agricultural practices.
Region: Marche
Country: Italia
Founded: 1981
Grapes: Verdicchio, Trebbiano, Biancame, Sangiovese, Shirah
Specializing in Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi. Minimally interventionist production philosophy: indigenous yeasts, reduced chemical use, no purchase of grapes or wines. Vineyards and wines distinguished by parcels such as Gaiospino, Coroncino and Cerrete, on calcareous and clay-rich soils. Production focused on bottling: the company states that it does not sell bulk wine. Tastings and purchases are available by contacting the farm directly; there is no permanent on‑site shop.
Winery history
Shaped by Lucio Canestrari and his wife Fiorella, Fattoria Coroncino was established in the early 1980s. Over the years the family has developed vineyards in several local crus — including Spescia/Gaiospino, Coroncino and Cerrete — and has built an identity centered on artisanal production and bottling rather than bulk sales.
Production philosophy
Rural, low‑intervention approach: the vineyards are managed with a focus on naturalness; native yeasts are used and the purchase of external grapes or wines is avoided. The estate states that it blends at the winery only wines that "sound together", prioritizing authenticity and drinkability.
Terroir and vineyards
The winery is located in Staffolo, in the province of Ancona. The vineyards are registered in the Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi register and lie on varied soils at elevations of approximately 300–420 meters above sea level, with parcels known as Spescia, Coroncino and Cerrete.
Awards and recognitions
The winery has received recognition across multiple vintages: for example, 'Coroncino' 2009 was awarded the Oscar del Vino, and 'Gaiospino' has received, among other honors, 3 Bicchieri and 5 grappoli AIS ratings in various years. The estate is featured in several guides and special mentions.
