The Mortlach 20 Years, boxed in a 70 cl format, offers a mature, concentrated character that encourages a careful tasting. On the nose there are notes of dried fruit, hints of ripe citrus, vanilla and a touch of toasted wood; the overall impression is balanced and not overloaded, with complexity unfolding as the whisky breathes in the glass. The presentation enhances the product, making it suitable as a gift.

On the palate it shows a full, balanced texture, with soft, warm sensations reflecting the aromas noted on the nose. The finish is persistent without force, leaving traces of gentle spice and light dried fruit. It is recommended to serve at a controlled temperature and, if desired, add a drop of water to open the aromatic profile; it pairs well with dark chocolate, aged cheeses or as a contemplative moment. Out of respect for the product, impressions may vary depending on the bottle and serving conditions.

Distillation

Traditional procedure with a "partial-triple" distillation regime producing a new make commonly described as distillate 2.81; use of worm tubs for condensation, which impart structure and salinity to the spirit.

Ageing

Maturations in various types of casks depending on the expression: refill and first-fill casks are used, with extensive use of sherry casks for some references; certain special releases are finished in French oak or other selected woods/finishings.
