The Jura 2008 15-year-old from Douglas Laing’s Old Particular series is a Highland single malt that immediately shows a measured balance: warmth and roundness marry with a clean sip that makes it easygoing without being simplistic. On the nose, ripe, fleshy fruit and honey emerge, tinged with a slightly maritime note and an herbaceous hint that lends freshness. The body is compact without being heavy, with well-integrated alcohol and a depth that invites further tasting.

On the palate it confirms the olfactory promise, with a soft texture that favors persistence over aromatic aggressiveness; the finish is long, clean and leaves traces of sweet spices and mineral hints. Best appreciated in a tulip glass, a few drops of water help open its profiles, and it is ideal presented in its case as a gift or paired with dark chocolate or aged cheeses without overpowering them.
