The Sagrantino di Montefalco DOCG by Tenuta Rocca di Fabbri is an emblem of the winemaking tradition of Umbria, a region in the heart of Italy known for the production of intense and characteristic wines. This wine is dedicated exclusively to the Sagrantino vine, a native variety that has found its ideal habitat in the Montefalco area, best expressing its potential in terms of aromatic concentration, structure and aging capacity.

Tenuta Rocca di Fabbri, with its profound knowledge of the territory and a careful and respectful approach to managing the vineyards, produces Sagrantino di Montefalco DOCG, highlighting the quality and authentic expression of the vine. The Sagrantino grapes, known for their rich concentration of polyphenols and tannins, are carefully selected and harvested by hand, guaranteeing an excellent raw material for winemaking.

The winemaking process is aimed at enhancing the structure and complexity of Sagrantino, with a prolonged maceration which allows the extraction of colour, aromas and tannins. This is followed by aging in wood, which varies from 18 to 24 months, in oak barriques which helps to harmonize the tannins and add notes of spices, vanilla and chocolate to the wine, without overpowering the intense fruity profile.

Visually, the Sagrantino di Montefalco DOCG by Tenuta Rocca di Fabbri has an intense, almost impenetrable ruby red color, a prelude to its rich and complex organoleptic characteristics. On the nose, it opens with a broad and intense bouquet, where notes of ripe red fruits dominate, such as cherries and plums, enriched by nuances of spices, leather, tobacco and a light balsamic touch, typical of aging in wood.

In the mouth, the wine is powerful and structured, with robust but well-integrated tannins that promise excellent aging potential. The acidity is well balanced, helping to maintain freshness and liveliness. Ripe fruit flavors blend with spicy and toasted notes, leading to a long and persistent finish, which leaves a sensation of fullness and complexity.

Ideal in combination with rich and tasty dishes, such as roast meat, game, truffle-based dishes and mature cheeses, the Sagrantino di Montefalco DOCG by Tenuta Rocca di Fabbri is a fine choice for lovers of robust and intense wines, offering a unique tasting experience that reflects the essence and passion of Umbrian viticulture.
