The Romate Riserva Duquesa Pedro Ximénez Sherry is an exceptionally rich and seductive dessert wine, perfect for those who love intensely sweet and complex wines. Produced in the renowned Jerez region in Spain, this Sherry is made exclusively from Pedro Ximénez grapes, known for their ability to produce highly concentrated sweet wines.
The production process includes sun-drying the grapes to achieve a desired sugar concentration. The wine is then aged using the traditional solera system, which further enhances its complexity. This method involves using a series of barrels where the wine is gradually transferred to blend with wines from different vintages.
It is deeply dark in color, almost ebony, and reveals on the nose a rich bouquet of dried fruit aromas, such as figs and plums, enriched by notes of chocolate, coffee, and sweet spices like cinnamon and vanilla. On the palate, the Riserva Duquesa Pedro Ximénez is extraordinarily velvety and sweet, with a perfect balance between sweetness and acidity that prolongs the tasting pleasure.
Perfect as a meditation wine or paired with chocolate desserts and baked goods made with dried fruits, this Sherry is also sublime with blue cheeses or as an elegant end to a meal.
