The Etna DOC Rosso Prephylloxera in Jeroboam format, presented in a wooden case by Palmento Costanzo, is a true expression of rarity and prestige in the world of wine. The term "Prephylloxera" refers to vineyards that have overcome the invasion of phylloxera, a root parasite that devastated many European vineyards in the late 19th century. Prephylloxera vines are extremely rare, as they have survived on ungrafted original roots, usually in volcanic or sandy soils where the parasite cannot survive. This makes Rosso Prephylloxera a wine of exceptional historical and qualitative value, coming from ancient Etna vines that produce concentrated grapes with intense aromatic expression.

Palmento Costanzo, with its dedication to quality and expression of terroir, enhances these ancient vines, located on the mineral-rich slopes of Etna, to produce a wine that embodies Sicilian winemaking history and tradition. The grapes, mainly Nerello Mascalese with a small percentage of Nerello Cappuccio, are carefully selected and harvested by hand to guarantee the highest quality.

Winemaking takes place using methods that respect traditions, but with an eye to modernity to enhance the unique characteristics of the grapes. Fermentation and refinement are conducted in such a way as to preserve the purity of the fruit and the varietal elegance, with a balanced use of wood that helps to develop complexity without overpowering the natural intensity of the wine.

The Jeroboam format, equivalent to four standard bottles, not only makes Rosso Prephylloxera an impressive centerpiece for special occasions, but is also ideal for aging, allowing the wine to evolve slowly and harmoniously over time. The presentation in a wooden case underlines the exclusivity and care dedicated to this wine, making it a prestigious gift or a prized addition to wine collections.

At sight, the wine has a deep and bright ruby red color. On the nose, it expresses a complex bouquet of ripe red fruits, spicy notes, floral accents and a distinctive minerality that reflects the volcanic soil of origin. In the mouth, Etna Rosso Prephylloxera offers a rich and harmonious structure, with fine tannins and a balanced acidity that gives freshness. Intense fruit flavors intertwine with earthy and mineral notes in a long and persistent finish.

This wine is an excellent accompaniment to dishes rich in flavor, such as grilled red meats, game dishes and mature cheeses. With its Rosso Prephylloxera, Palmento Costanzo celebrates the vital force of the ancient vineyards of Etna, offering a unique tasting experience that connects the drinker to the history and land of this volcanic territory.
