Zelige Caravent is a small artisanal winery located in the heart of the Languedoc region in France, known for its commitment to organic and biodynamic viticulture. The Jolie Coeur AOC embodies the winery’s philosophy perfectly, presenting a pure expression of the local terroir.

Jolie Coeur is a red wine that stands out for its complexity and elegance. Made primarily from Grenache grapes, it is known for its deep ruby red color. On the nose, this wine reveals an intriguing bouquet of ripe red fruits, such as strawberry and cherry, enhanced by subtle spicy notes of black pepper and a light touch of aromatic herbs.

On the palate, the Jolie Coeur AOC offers a perfect balance between acidity and well-structured tannins, evolving into a long and persistent finish. The velvety texture and aromatic complexity make it an excellent companion for flavorful dishes, such as roasted meats, mushroom-based dishes, or aged cheeses.

The winemaking follows traditional methods, with spontaneous fermentation thanks to indigenous yeasts and aging in oak barrels that contribute to enriching the wine's complexity without overwhelming the fruity character of the grapes.

This wine not only tells the richness and uniqueness of its terroir but also reflects the commitment of the Zelige Caravent winery to sustainable and environmentally respectful practices, ensuring limited but high-quality productions each year. Therefore, Jolie Coeur is an excellent choice for wine lovers looking for an authentic and nature-respecting experience.

Winery history
The project is linked to Luc and Marie, who developed the vineyard in the Corconne area. Industry sources cite a 2005 vintage associated with Luc Michel's takeover; the cuvées are often renewed and not repeated year on year.
Production philosophy
Low-intervention practices: organic/biodynamic viticulture, hand-harvested grapes, fermentations with native yeasts, variable macerations and limited use of SO2 during aging. This approach prioritizes terroir expression and the freshness of the wines.
Terroir and vineyards
Located in Corconne, in the Pic Saint-Loup area, on "gravette" and limestone soils; vineyards laid out in parcels on terraces with dry-stone walls that highlight a terroir of gravel and limestone.
