This Spumante Alta Langa DOCG Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut from Fontanafredda is born in the vineyards of Piedmont, a territory renowned for its calcareous-clay hills ideal for the production of excellent sparkling wines. Made exclusively from Chardonnay grapes, the wine stands out for its refined structure and the typical elegance of the grape variety.
The extended aging on the lees gives the sparkling wine complexity and finesse, with evident aromas of fresh yeast and delicate floral notes. On the nose, scents of green apple, white flowers, and a slight bread crust are perceived, while on the palate it is fresh, mineral, and vibrant, with a lively and harmonious bubble that enhances the gustatory persistence.
Ideal as an aperitif or paired with delicate seafood dishes and fresh cheeses, this Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut expresses the sparkling wine tradition of the Alta Langa area at its best, a perfect balance between terroir and winemaking art.

Winery history
The estate made history in the 19th century: purchased by Vittorio Emanuele II in 1858 and associated with Rosa Vercellana, the property was developed by the Mirafiore family and had already established its commercial reputation by the late 1800s. In the 20th century the Fontanafredda brand consolidated as a reference producer in the Langhe; after hardships related to crises and wars, the company regained momentum and, in 2008, was relaunched under new ownership led by Oscar Farinetti. In recent years Fontanafredda has undertaken a program of technical renewal and sustainability known as “Rinascimento Verde,” publishing sustainability reports and holding certifications as reported by the producer.
Production philosophy
Local production focused on quality, the protection of the vineyard landscape and sustainability. Fontanafredda coordinates a network of suppliers to operate across a wide area while maintaining a strong focus on conversion to organic farming, biodiversity and the transmission of agricultural practices between generations, with a significant investment in storytelling and the local community.
Terroir and vineyards
Located in Serralunga d'Alba, in the heart of the Langhe, the estate manages vineyards in several municipalities of the Langhe and lower Piedmont at varying altitudes. The area is characterized by limestone hills and the typical continental climate of the Langhe.
