Together with the Cortona area, Sicily produces the most interesting Italian versions of Syrah, an increasingly popular native vine. Cantina Fina owns vineyards located north of Marsala, in the hinterland, near the salt marshes and the Stagnone Islands nature reserve which rises inland in an area extremely suited to the cultivation of vines.
The Syrah vineyards are located in an environment rich in biodiversity and are grown organically, with only sulfur and copper, in order to produce natural wines with a typically territorial, Mediterranean and marine face. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature, and ages for 12 months in oak barrels.
In the glass it shows a deep ruby red color with garnet reflections. The bouquet recalls shades of violet with fruity hints of blackberry, currant and dark berry fruit, which are combined with notes of undergrowth, splashes of bitter cocoa and spices. The taste is structured, with a dense tannic texture, a rich and ripe fruit. The finish is long, spicy and harmonious.
It goes perfectly with all red meat dishes and aged cheeses.
