The Rosso di Montepulciano DOC from Tenuta Valdipiatta is an emblematic example of this revered wine from Tuscany. Comprised of 90% Sangiovese and 10% Canaiolo, this wine encapsulates the soul of the Montepulciano region, well known for its robust wines with a long tradition.

In appearance, the Rosso di Montepulciano presents with an intense ruby red color, tending towards garnet as it ages. On the nose, it is distinguished by an aromatic bouquet highlighted by notes of ripe red fruits such as cherry and plum, enriched with nuances of violets and light spices that reflect its wood maturation.

On the palate, the wine offers a balanced and harmonious taste. The acidity is well-balanced by the soft tannins, allowing the Rosso di Montepulciano to smoothly glide across the palate, ending with a pleasantly lingering finish. This structure makes the wine versatile in food pairing: it pairs beautifully with dishes of red meat, game, and aged cheeses.

The vinification process involves maceration of the skins at controlled temperatures, followed by maturation in oak barrels which helps to soften the tannins and enhance the wine’s aromatic profile.

Tenuta Valdipiatta, respecting tradition but with a careful eye on modern enological techniques, manages to offer a Rosso di Montepulciano DOC that is a true expression of the terroir, ideal for those seeking a wine with an excellent quality-price ratio and the ability to recount the story of a rich and passionate territory.
