Approach focused on reducing synthetic chemical inputs and minimizing the use of sulfites. Commitment to research and circular economy projects with universities and a start-up. Umbrian Winery of the Year award at Vinitaly 2022.
Winery history
The estate was established through the commitment of the Cesarini Sartori family: Luciano Cesarini, Giuseppe Cesarini and Fiorella Sartori left previous careers in the late 1990s to return to rural life and focus on viticulture in Bastardo. Luciano applied his engineering expertise to the design of a highly automated, precisely controlled winery, intended to manage the winemaking processes with accuracy.
Production philosophy
The winery favors an approach that minimizes the use of synthetic chemicals and sulfites, combining precision winemaking techniques with manual work in the vineyard. It also develops circular-economy projects and applied research in collaboration with universities and a start-up dedicated to adding value to vine residues.
Terroir and vineyards
Located in the Colli Martani, around the village of Bastardo, on clay soils with a lacustrine substrate; the estate also owns vineyards in Villa Rode and in areas of Montefalco.
Awards and recognitions
Awarded at Vinitaly as "Umbrian Winery of the Year".
