The Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG "Carlo Santi 1843" from the Santi winery is a tribute to the history and excellence of Valpolicella viticulture. This wine celebrates the year of foundation of the Santi winery, a symbol of the long winemaking tradition of the region, and represents a point of reference in the panorama of great Amarones.

Visually, it presents a deep and seductive garnet red color, which anticipates its intensity and structure. On the nose, the wine releases a rich and complex bouquet, characterized by aromas of ripe fruit, such as cherries and plums, together with notes of spices, chocolate, vanilla and a light touch of tobacco, the result of careful maturation in wood.

On the palate, this Amarone stands out for its power and at the same time elegance. The tannins are robust but velvety, the acidity is well balanced, giving freshness to the wine. The taste is dominated by intense flavors of ripe fruit, chocolate and spices, with a long and enveloping finish that leaves a pleasant sensation of warmth and complexity.

Perfect for pairing with rich and intense dishes, such as red meats, stews, game and mature cheeses, "Amarone Carlo Santi 1843" is also an ideal wine for special occasions or as a meditation wine, offering a rich and memorable tasting experience .

Winery history
Cantina Santi was founded as a winery in Illasi and has been present in Valpolicella since the 19th century. During the 20th century the Santi family introduced technical innovations and progressively focused on high-end wines; in 1974 the winery became part of Gruppo Italiano Vini, which reinforced investments and facilities while preserving its local identity.
Production philosophy
Santi claims a style tied to the sense of place of Valpolicella: it favors the predominant use of Corvina in its selections, aging in large traditional casks, and the use of local woods to enhance the aromatic qualities typical of native grape varieties. The approach combines oenological research with respect for local practices.
Terroir and vineyards
Santi's vineyards and selections are concentrated in Val d'Illasi and the classic areas of Valpolicella, using a vineyard-selection approach across different exposures and microclimates to produce wines that reflect the local terroir. The winery also works with vineyards in other Veronese appellations such as Soave, Bardolino and Lugana.
