The Chinon Rouge Croix Boissée by Bernard Baudry is an extraordinarily refined red wine, produced in the famed Loire Valley region of France. This label stands out for its majestic craftsmanship, utilizing hand-picked Cabernet Franc grapes from vines over 50 years old, located on clay soil with pure limestone, which imparts a unique complexity to the wine.

The Chinon Rouge Croix Boissée displays a deep ruby red color and reveals intense aromas of black fruits such as blackberry and currant, accompanied by spicy nuances and subtle notes of tobacco and leather, thanks to an aging process of 12-18 months in French oak barrels. On the palate, the wine is powerful yet balanced, with mature tannins and a vivid freshness that promises excellent aging potential.

A perfect accompaniment for robust dishes, such as grilled or roasted red meats, the Chinon Rouge Croix Boissée offers a tasting experience that will leave a lasting impression. Ideal for connoisseurs eager to explore the depth and elegance of Loire wines.

Region: Chinon (Valle della Loira)
Country: Francia
Founded: 1975
Grapes: Cabernet Franc, Chenin Blanc
Vineyard managed organically. Parcel-by-parcel viticulture and winemaking aimed at expressing the different terroirs of Chinon. Vineyards concentrated on Cabernet Franc, with a smaller production of Chenin. Hand-harvested and low-intervention cellar practices. Internationally renowned wines distributed by prominent importers/merchants.
Winery history
Bernard Baudry, trained in oenology in Beaune and later a viticultural consultant in Tours, established his own estate in 1975, starting with just a few hectares. Over the years the estate has grown, and since 2000 his son Matthieu has taken a permanent role in its management, contributing to improvements in the quality of the winemaking.
Production philosophy
Parcel-by-parcel vineyard work and single-clone winemaking to express the terroir; hand harvesting, minimal cellar intervention and environmentally respectful practices. The estate favors an approach to winemaking that highlights the origin of the parcels.
Terroir and vineyards
Vineyards are spread between Cravant-les-Coteaux and the commune of Chinon within the Chinon appellation. Varied soils, including gravelly plains, clay-limestone slopes and sandy-limestone plateaux, influence the different styles of wine produced.
