The Abruzzo Pecorino DOC wine, part of the renowned Tralcetto Line by Zaccagnini, embodies the excellence of Abruzzo viticulture with a sip that celebrates the indigenous Pecorino variety. This white wine is known for its vibrant freshness and rich aromaticity, making it particularly desirable among connoisseurs.

The Abruzzo Pecorino DOC boasts a straw-yellow color with greenish reflections, indicative of its youth and freshness. On the nose, it stands out for its complex bouquet: notes of white fruits like peach and pear blend with hints of white flowers and a slight herbaceous touch, typical of this variety. These aromas are complemented by hints of fresh almond and subtle spices, further enriching its olfactory profile.

On the palate, the Abruzzo Pecorino presents a strong minerality and excellent acidity, balancing the wine’s structure and ensuring a remarkable taste persistence. It is characterized by good body, making it an ideal companion for a variety of dishes, from seafood to traditional Italian cuisine, including light appetizers, savory first courses, and grilled fish.

Produced with meticulous care and passion, Zaccagnini's Tralcetto Line follows a meticulous winemaking process that preserves the intrinsic characteristics of Pecorino grapes. The vines, grown on well-drained soils with optimal sun exposure, allow for the production of high-quality grapes, which are then transformed into wine using modern stainless steel vinification techniques, maintaining the fruit’s integrity and the freshness of its aromatic profile.

The Abruzzo Pecorino DOC from the Tralcetto Line by Zaccagnini represents an excellent choice for those seeking a quality Italian white wine, capable of offering a refined and authentically Abruzzese tasting experience.

Iconic "Tralcetto" line with a vine sprig affixed to the bottle. Strong focus on Montepulciano d'Abruzzo and other native grape varieties. Managing approximately 300 hectares of vineyards in the hills of Pescara. Integration with the Argea Group Exhibition space and art collection at the winery, cultural activities initiated in the 1980s.
Winery history
The winery was established as a family-run business in Bolognano and over time has developed a strong territorial identity centered on native Abruzzo grape varieties and the emblematic "Tralcetto". The company website and promotional materials state that the modern history of the estate begins in 1978; documents from the Argea group cite an alternative date, so public sources disagree on the exact year of foundation. In 2023 Cantina Zaccagnini joined the Argea group; the estate is also known for having transformed its cellar spaces into a venue for art since the 1980s.
Production philosophy
Highlighting the Abruzzo region and its native grape varieties with an approach that blends tradition and modern techniques, the brand also conveys a strong artistic sensibility, presenting visual culture as an integral part of the wine experience.
Terroir and vineyards
The vineyards are located on the hills of Pescara in Abruzzo, in a territory that ranges from the Apennine Mountains to the Adriatic coast. The estate reports vineyards distributed across the Colli Pescaresi with microclimatic conditions moderated by mountain breezes.
