The Pinot Grigio Friuli Isonzo DOC from Tenuta Villanova represents a pinnacle of Friulian eno-gastronomy, capturing the essence of a region unique in its climate and soil composition. This wine is cultivated in the fertile plains of Friuli Venezia Giulia, where the cool Adriatic breezes meet the mild climate of the hills, creating ideal conditions for viticulture.

Visually, it presents a light straw yellow color with reflections that can vary up to more golden tones. On the nose, the bouquet is finely articulated: notes of white-fleshed fruits like pear and apple emerge, enriched by hints of fresh almond and a light mineral vein, typical of the Isonzo terroir.

On the palate, Tenuta Villanova's Pinot Grigio is fresh and well-balanced. The acidity is lively but not overpowering, well-balanced by the wine's medium structure. The finish is clean and persistent, with a pleasant aromatic recurrence inviting another sip.

This wine pairs perfectly with seafood cuisine, ideal with light appetizers, dishes based on white fish or shellfish. It is also an excellent companion for risottos and pasta with spring vegetables.

Best served chilled, at a temperature of around 8-10°C, the Pinot Grigio Friuli Isonzo DOC shines on occasions where a wine that combines freshness and complexity is sought. A true jewel of Friulian viticulture that tells, in each sip, the passion and tradition of Tenuta Villanova.

Documented since 1499, one of the oldest wineries in the region. Estate comprising vineyards in both the Collio area and the Isonzo plain. Production of still and sparkling wines, as well as distilled spirits. An example of a historic estate focused on vineyard zoning and the enhancement of the crus. Offering guided tours, tastings and wine tourism experiences.
Winery history
The estate’s earliest documentary records date to 1499; over the centuries it has maintained an uninterrupted winemaking presence. In the 20th century the property was acquired by the Bennati family, and today the estate is run by the next generation, which has led a refresh of the brand identity without losing its connection to the historical archive and local tradition.
Production philosophy
The estate emphasizes respect for the land and the enhancement of individual parcels: cultivation follows vineyard zoning and protects the soil’s identity, while in the cellar the approach seeks to interpret with balance the character of the different crus. Alongside wine production, the estate also values the tradition of in‑house distillation.
Terroir and vineyards
The estate stretches from the alluvial plain along the Isonzo to the hills of the Collio, encompassing vineyards located in the Collio DOC and Friuli Isonzo DOC. The estate notes the area is characterized by varied microclimates and soils that contribute to distinct wine profiles.
