Blanche de Namur is a Belgian beer which owes its name to a young princess, daughter of the Count of Namur. According to a legend, with its beauty, it subjugated Magnus IV Eriksson, king of Sweden and Norway; followed him to the Scandinavian lands and never returned to his native country. In memory of her beauty, elegance and sweetness, the brewery decided to dedicate this beer to her.
This Witbier wears a light blond and opalescent dress. On the nose, fresh floral and fruity aromas stand out, cwith subtle hints of coriander and orange peel. It's a beer high fermentation which from the first sip is perceived as not full-bodied, soft and round.
An easy-to-drink, fresh and thirst-quenching drink with marked citrus scents that give it an elegant bitter aroma that envelops the mouth throughout the tasting and makes it unsuitable for combinations with creams and very filled cakes. Blanche de Namur is instead excellent to accompany light and delicate flavours, dishes based on meat or white fish, biscuits and sideboard desserts.
An award-winning beer which, among many others, won the title in 2009 of Best White Beer in the world in the competition World Beer Awards.
