The Chardonnay IGT Venezia Giulia "La Bora" from the renowned Kante winery is a wine that embodies the purity and elegance of Chardonnay grapes grown in the picturesque region of Friuli Venezia Giulia. This white wine, with its vibrant notes and aromatic complexity, represents an excellent example of how the unique terroir of this area can positively influence the grape variety.

Visually, the Chardonnay "La Bora" presents a bright straw-yellow color, with reflections that vary from green to gold depending on the light. On the nose, fresh scents of white-fleshed fruit such as peach and apple are immediately distinguishable, followed by nuances of citrus and a slight floral touch reminiscent of acacia. These notes are delicately wrapped by a subtle vein of vanilla and butter, the result of skillful fermentation and maturation in barrique.

On the palate, the wine is rich and complex, with a good aromatic match to what is perceived olfactively. The acidity is well balanced and gives the wine a lingering freshness, making it pleasantly drinkable. The texture is creamy, with a finesse that pairs with a long taste persistence, leaving a clean and rewarding sensation.

The Chardonnay "La Bora" by Kante pairs beautifully with elaborate fish dishes, seafood, and can also be surprisingly harmonious with semi-aged cheeses. This wine elegantly opens up at the apéritif, enhancing conversations and meetings.

It is an excellent choice for those who wish to explore the richness of Chardonnay interpreted according to the viticultural heart of Friuli Venezia Giulia, marked by the expertise of a winery that values the quality and authenticity of its territorial expression.

Winery history
Cantina Santi was founded as a winery in Illasi and has been present in Valpolicella since the 19th century. During the 20th century the Santi family introduced technical innovations and progressively focused on high-end wines; in 1974 the winery became part of Gruppo Italiano Vini, which reinforced investments and facilities while preserving its local identity.
Production philosophy
Santi claims a style tied to the sense of place of Valpolicella: it favors the predominant use of Corvina in its selections, aging in large traditional casks, and the use of local woods to enhance the aromatic qualities typical of native grape varieties. The approach combines oenological research with respect for local practices.
Terroir and vineyards
Santi's vineyards and selections are concentrated in Val d'Illasi and the classic areas of Valpolicella, using a vineyard-selection approach across different exposures and microclimates to produce wines that reflect the local terroir. The winery also works with vineyards in other Veronese appellations such as Soave, Bardolino and Lugana.
