Produced following ancient traditional recipes, the Nocino from Terre di Romagna is made by macerating green walnuts collected in the heart of summer, precisely on the night of Saint John, as per tradition. The walnuts, picked at their peak of aromaticity, are left to macerate in quality alcohol for a long period, which can range from one year and beyond. This process allows for the complete extraction of all the natural essences and flavors of the fruit, resulting in a liqueur of surprising complexity.
The color is intensely dark, almost black, with hues that can lean towards mahogany. On the nose, the Nocino from Terre di Romagna offers rich and deep aromas, with prevailing notes of walnut, coffee, chocolate, and spices, particularly cinnamon and vanilla. On the palate, it presents itself with a medium-full body, well balanced between sweetness and bitterness, with a lingering finish that invites another taste.
