Bigi's Rosso Umbria IGT "Sartiano" is a wine that embodies the essence and complexity of the Umbrian territory, a region in the heart of Italy renowned for its rich winemaking tradition.

"Sartiano" is the result of a careful selection of Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, which, vinified with care, give life to a wine with an intense ruby red color, with violet reflections that testify to its liveliness.

In the mouth, it shows a balanced and compact structure, with soft and well-integrated tannins that support its medium-full body.

Winery history

The winery has been rooted in the Orvieto area since the late 19th century; official sources record the founding of Casa Vinicola Luigi Bigi in 1880. Originally based in the former Franciscan monastery "La Trinità," production was moved to more modern facilities in Ponte Giulio during the 20th century. Over time the winery became part of Gruppo Italiano Vini and consolidated production of Orvieto’s characteristic white wines alongside a range of regional reds.

Terroir and vineyards
