The Sangue di Giuda from Oltrepò Pavese holds a fascinating role in the extensive range of Italian red wines with its intensely unique visual and gustatory impact. Originating from the historic Giorgi winery, this wine has roots deeply embedded in the winemaking tradition of Oltrepò Pavese, a region celebrated for its iron-rich and clayey soils that enhance the qualities of the grapes used.

The uniqueness of this wine comes from its blend of Croatina, Ughetta, and Barbera grapes, cultivated with dedication and handpicked at the perfect moment of ripeness. The DOC (Denomination of Controlled Origin) ensures that every production phase follows rigorous quality standards, maintaining the regional integrity and identity of this wine.

Visually, Sangue di Giuda presents a deep ruby red color with purplish highlights. The aroma is a delightful weave of fruity notes of blackberry, raspberry, and a light spiciness reminiscent of cinnamon and clove. On the palate, the wine displays a medium body, with a sweetness well-balanced by fresh acidity and soft but present tannins, leading to a persistent and seductive finish.

Recommended to accompany traditional Italian dishes such as sausage risotto or game dishes, Sangue di Giuda Giorgi also proves an excellent companion for aged cheeses or chocolate-based desserts. To best appreciate it, it is advised to serve at a temperature of 16-18°C.

This wine is not just a drink, but a true enogastronomic experience that transports the taster into the rich traditions of Oltrepò Pavese, offering a direct taste of Italian winemaking mastery.

Winery history
The estate is led by the Bricolo family: parents Alberta and Roberto started the business, and it is now managed by their daughter Roberta. According to the winery, it was founded by the parents in 1975; in 2014 the current owners began the conversion to organic viticulture, which resulted in vineyard certification. Over the years the facilities have been expanded with architectural additions focused on hospitality and wine tourism.
Production philosophy
The company's philosophy centers on organic viticulture and sustainability: the organic approach is regarded as an indispensable choice to safeguard health and the land and to enhance the relationship between soil, vine and climate, with winemaking planned already in the vineyard.
Terroir and vineyards
The vineyards are located on the moraine hills around the village of Custoza, in the municipality of Sommacampagna, on glacially derived soils rich in pebbles and calcium carbonate, which impart minerality and salinity to the wines, typical of the Lake Garda area.
Awards and recognitions
Among the recognitions reported by the press and industry platforms are: Tre Bicchieri for the Custoza 'San Michelin'; international awards such as a Silver Medal and mentions in Decanter for the Custoza Superiore 'Summa'; and Mundus Vini medals for wines such as Ca' Nova.
