The Velvet AOC by Zelige Caravent is an extraordinary expression of precision viticulture and the art of French winemaking. Produced in the heart of the Languedoc region, this red wine is the result of a careful selection of grapes grown in small plots, where the microclimate and soil provide the ideal conditions for their development.

Zelige Caravent winery follows environmentally-friendly cultivation methods, with a particular focus on maintaining the natural balance of the soil and preserving biodiversity. The low-intervention approach during winemaking enhances the natural qualities of the grapes, ensuring a wine of great character and purity.

The Velvet AOC is known for its complex aromatic profile, ranging from notes of ripe red fruits like cherry and raspberry, to hints of spices, chocolate, and a light balsamic touch. On the palate, the wine is elegant and velvety, with finely interwoven tannins and balanced acidity that contribute to a long-lasting taste.

The aging process in the cellar includes a period of rest in wooden barrels that do not overpower the fruit but integrate into the structure of the wine, adding complexity and a light toasted vein.

Ideal as an accompaniment to robust dishes such as grilled red meats, roasts, game, and aged cheeses, Velvet AOC by Zelige Caravent is also perfect to enjoy on its own as a meditation wine. Its aging potential also makes it an excellent candidate for further years in the cellar, where it can develop additional layers of complexity.

Enjoy the thrill of a glass of Velvet AOC and be captivated by the authentic flavors of high French winemaking. A wine that tells the story of its territory with every sip.

Production philosophy
Low-intervention practices: organic/biodynamic viticulture, hand-harvested grapes, fermentations with native yeasts, variable macerations and limited use of SO2 during aging. This approach prioritizes terroir expression and the freshness of the wines.
Terroir and vineyards
Located in Corconne, in the Pic Saint-Loup area, on "gravette" and limestone soils; vineyards laid out in parcels on terraces with dry-stone walls that highlight a terroir of gravel and limestone.
