The Sauvignon Friuli Isonzo DOC from Tenuta Villanova is a white wine of distinct character, born in the fertile region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, specifically in the Isonzo area. This area is renowned for its ability to produce high-quality white wines, thanks to the unique microclimate and mineral-rich soil that impart a distinctive note to every glass.

The Sauvignon from Tenuta Villanova stands out for its intense and complex aroma. On the nose, it offers an exuberant bouquet of tropical fruits, with accents of peach and passion fruit, combined with hints of aromatic herbs like basil and mint, typical of the Sauvignon grape variety. There is also a slight mineral vein that adds elegance and freshness to the aromatic profile.

On the palate, the wine is fresh and well-balanced. The acidity is lively but not overpowering, perfectly integrated with the wine's structure. The flavor echoes the aromatic notes already perceived on the nose, with a remarkable persistence that leaves a pleasant herbaceous freshness in the mouth.

This wine is ideal to serve as an aperitif or paired with light dishes such as fresh salads, fish or seafood dishes, and soft cheeses. It is also an excellent choice to enhance Asian cuisine dishes, thanks to its ability to balance spicy and aromatic flavors.

Tenuta Villanova follows sustainable viticultural practices, paying attention to environmental respect and the quality of the final product, making Sauvignon Friuli Isonzo DOC an authentic expression of the territory and the winery's philosophy. A wine that enchants not only the palate but also the nose, testifying to the richness and variety of the Friulian wine landscape.

Offering guided tours, tastings and wine tourism experiences.
Winery history
The estate’s earliest documentary records date to 1499; over the centuries it has maintained an uninterrupted winemaking presence. In the 20th century the property was acquired by the Bennati family, and today the estate is run by the next generation, which has led a refresh of the brand identity without losing its connection to the historical archive and local tradition.
Production philosophy
The estate emphasizes respect for the land and the enhancement of individual parcels: cultivation follows vineyard zoning and protects the soil’s identity, while in the cellar the approach seeks to interpret with balance the character of the different crus. Alongside wine production, the estate also values the tradition of in‑house distillation.
Terroir and vineyards
The estate stretches from the alluvial plain along the Isonzo to the hills of the Collio, encompassing vineyards located in the Collio DOC and Friuli Isonzo DOC. The estate notes the area is characterized by varied microclimates and soils that contribute to distinct wine profiles.
