The Sauvignon DOC Friuli Colli Orientali by La Viarte is a prime example that elegantly encapsulates the aromatic variety of Sauvignon Blanc, enriched by the unique terroir of the Colli Orientali del Friuli. This wine stands out for its intensely aromatic nose, showcasing notes of tropical fruits and citrus, followed by nuances of fresh herbs like wild fennel and mint, perfectly integrated with a slight mineral hint.

On the palate, La Viarte's Sauvignon demonstrates a vibrant freshness that matches the expectations set by its complex and inviting bouquet. Its well-balanced acidity leads to a long and persistent finish, leaving a pleasant sensation of cleanliness and refreshing persistence.

The production of this wine begins with hand-harvesting of the grapes, followed by cold maceration, which helps preserve the range of primary aromas of the grape variety. Fermentation takes place at controlled temperatures in stainless steel tanks to maintain the freshness and purity of the fruit.

This Sauvignon by La Viarte is excellent as an aperitif and is highly recommended paired with fish dishes, especially raw and marinated, as well as fresh salads and vegetable-based dishes. Its ability to handle intense flavors also makes it a great match for spicy Asian cuisine.

In summary, the Sauvignon DOC Friuli Colli Orientali by La Viarte offers a refined and stimulating tasting experience, ideal for white wine lovers seeking freshness, aromaticity, and elegance in the glass.

Winery history
La Viarte was established as a production company in the Colli Orientali del Friuli and is recorded as having been founded in 1973. Over the years it has developed dedicated ranges and, in 2023, returned to public attention thanks to a new management phase with the arrival of the Polegato family, who relaunched the company while maintaining its focus on the local area.
Production philosophy
The winery places respect for the territory, the enhancement of native grape varieties, and a detail-oriented cellar approach at its core: targeted winemaking by type, selective use of oak for red wines, and limited production to emphasize quality and territorial identity.
Terroir and vineyards
The winery is located on the hills of the Friuli Colli Orientali DOC, near the border with Slovenia. The vineyards grow on marly-sandy soils, which impart structure and minerality to the wines.
