Campanian winery known for its eponymous red wine (Colli di Salerno IGT), produced from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Aglianico and Merlot. A small, quality-focused producer with white wines in the Core line.
Region: Campania
Country: Italia
Founded: 1983
Grapes: Cabernet Sauvignon, Aglianico, Merlot, Fiano, Greco
Montevetrano Rosso: Bordeaux-style Campanian blend based on Cabernet, Merlot and Aglianico Linea Core: includes Core Rosso and Core Bianco Estate located in San Cipriano Picentino, in the Parco Regionale dei Monti Picentini. Long-standing collaboration with oenologist Riccardo Cotarella Multi-award-winning wines, highly rated by the leading international guides.
Winery history
The project was launched in the mid-1980s at the initiative of Silvia Imparato, with the contribution of oenologist Riccardo Cotarella. After initial experiments in the 1980s, the first commercial releases date to the early 1990s. Over time Montevetrano has become a benchmark in Campanian viticulture thanks to targeted winemaking choices and a strong territorial identity.
Production philosophy
The winery favors control of the entire production cycle by using estate-grown grapes, practices respectful of the land, and targeted aging to promote longevity and complexity. Red winemaking involves long macerations and aging in barriques; for the Core whites, aging in stainless steel is preferred.
Terroir and vineyards
The estate is located in San Cipriano Picentino, within the Monti Picentini Regional Park, on a hill ridge at around 100 m above sea level. The vineyards benefit from the influence of the sea and from medium-textured soils with calcareous fragments/'bones'.
Awards and recognitions
The wines have received numerous scores and accolades in international and Italian guides and magazines, with several vintages rated above 90 points.
