The Taurasi DOCG "Fusonero" by Villa Matilde Avallone is an oenological pearl of Campania, a sublime expression of the Aglianico grape, known for its ability to produce wines of great structure and longevity. Villa Matilde, a winery that stands as guardian of the winemaking traditions of the region, pays particular attention to the valorisation of native vines, including Aglianico, carefully selecting the grapes from the best vineyards to produce the "Fusonero", a Taurasi of excellent quality.

The name "Fusonero" evokes images of earth and fire, elements that reflect the power and complexity of this wine, as well as the volcanic nature of the terroir from which it comes. The vinification of Taurasi "Fusonero" follows traditional methods, with a long maceration of the grapes to extract color, tannins and aromas, followed by fermentation at a controlled temperature. The wine is then aged in oak barriques for a period that can vary from 12 to 18 months, depending on the vintage, and then completes its aging in the bottle. This process gives "Fusonero" an extraordinary aromatic complexity and a well-integrated tannic structure.

Visually, Taurasi "Fusonero" has a deep ruby red color, with garnet reflections that intensify with aging. On the nose, it offers a rich and complex bouquet, dominated by notes of ripe red and black fruits, such as black cherries, plums and blackberries, enriched by nuances of spices, chocolate, coffee and vanilla, evidence of the aging in wood.

In the mouth, the wine reveals great structure and depth, with robust but elegant tannins and a balanced acidity that gives freshness and drinkability. The flavors of ripe fruit blend with earthy and mineral notes, typical of Aglianico, leading to a long and persistent finish, with a pleasant spicy hint.

Ideal in combination with rich and structured dishes, such as red meats, game, truffle-based dishes and mature cheeses, the Taurasi DOCG "Fusonero" by Villa Matilde Avallone is a wine that celebrates the nobility of Aglianico and the unique expression of Campania terroir, offering a tasting experience capable of fascinating and involving even the most demanding palates.
