The first phase of this exclusive process involves aging for 5 years in the Caribbean in barrels that previously housed bourbon. Subsequently, the rum is transferred to Spain, where it rests for another 5 years in barrels that previously contained the famous sherry "Dos Cortados," a 20-year-old Palo Cortado, thus ensuring a unique aromatic development. Finally, the rum spends a last period in Pedro Ximénez barrels, appreciated for their sweet and deeply fruity character.
On the palate, Dos Maderas Triple Aged 5+5 years offers extraordinary complexity with dominant notes of dried fruit, honey, and a delicate touch of vanilla and tobacco, enriched by subtle nuances of cocoa and spices. Its finish is long, with a pleasant persistence of sweet and spicy aromas.
